There is definitely a lot to read out there. And no offense to anyone who enjoys the parlor game Name That Historical Personage Who Maybe Possibly Coulda Had Autism or whose cat may be showing symptoms, but let's get serious. If you care for or work with someone with an ASD, you are probably deluged with information, about half of which is guaranteed to be inaccurate and some of which may even be harmful. If you are new to the diagnosis or suspect someone might benefit from diagnosis, you should be reading solid, scientific works from accredited professionals. Save the memoirs, the controversies, the alleged conspiracies, and the so-called "breakthrough" books for later. Right now, your mission is to understand autism and find the best evidenced-based treatment or intervention available. Click below to link to the book of your choice on amazon.com.
